Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT places emphasis on encouraging individuals to live a meaningful, present and value driven life. ACT teaches individuals to not struggle with difficult thoughts and feelings through mindfulness (consciously being in the here and now with a non-judgmental awareness) skills. These skills include acceptance, seeing thoughts for what they are rather than what they say to you, contact with the present moment and observing the self.
